Dr. Gilberto Munoz returns to the "Men in Red" for his eleventh season, now as the Fire's Medical Director in 2008. Munoz's extensive background includes a tenure as the President of the Medical Directors Club of Chicago in 2001-2002, as well as membership in the Illinois Medical Society, American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine. In addition to his duties with the Fire, Dr. Munoz is the Medical Director of Corporate Health and Traveling Medicine Clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and also serves as the Plant Medical Director at General Motors/SPO, a Volunteer Attending Physician at Cook County Hospital and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Occupational Medicine Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Munoz received his Medical Degree from the University of Veracruz in Xalapa, Mexico, graduating first in his class. Additionally, Dr. Munoz earned a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois School of Public Health in Chicago in 1997.
