During his 2007 rookie season, Fire goalkeeper Nick Noble found himself behind former starter Matt Pickens and the experienced veteran Jon Busch on the depth chart. While the West Virginia University product did not see first team minutes with the "Men in Red", Noble gained experience as most rookies do in the MLS Reserve Division. Noble played in six of 11 Fire Reserves games during 2007, recording 270 minutes between the posts. With six goals against, including one penalty kick attempt goal, the 23-year old All-American goalkeeper posted a goals against average of 2.00 through his inaugural campaign. With the offseason departure of Pickens, Noble will aim to compete with Busch and rookie Dominic Cervi for 2008 first team minutes.
