September 1, 2001 - The Fire captures its second consecutive Central Division title with a 1-0 win over the MetroStars.

September 6, 2000 - Chicago defeats Columbus 3-1 at Soldier Field and is crowned the 2000 MLS Central Division Champion.

Sept. 6, 2006 - A dominating 3-0 win over D.C. United in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Semifinals sends Chicago to the tournament’s championship match for the fifth time in just nine appearances. September 6, 2007 - Andell Holdings, a Los Angeles-based private investment firm with global business and investment interests controlled by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Andrew Hauptman, announce the closing of the transaction for Andell to acquire AEG's interests in the Fire. Hauptman becomes the 13th investor/operator in Major League Soccer history.
