RDS

The Regional Development School (RDS) is an elite training program specifically designed for soccer players aged 9 to 18 years looking to aspire to the next level. The RDS provides players the opportunity to participate in supplementary training beyond their existing club practices. While many club practice sessions are focused on the tactical and functional components of the game, the RDS focuses on individual fast foot work, ball mastery, 1v1 signature moves and skill specific learning outcomes.

The advanced curriculum is focused on the individual player and is designed to maximize technical abilities. The strict coaching ratio of 1:12 allows players to receive excellent individual attention and coach interaction, all leading to a comprehensive electronic evaluation at the end of the program. These evaluations provide qualitative feedback that provides parents and coaches with an invaluable tool to aid player's development. Over the duration of the programs players will hear the RDS coaching staff make reference to the 10,000 hours of long term athlete development. This is the total number of hours that elite sports experts suggest each youth player should aspire to in order to become a top level soccer player.

The RDS consists of 5 unique programs, which provide year round Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD):

  • Seasonal Programs consist of 2 hours of instructional coaching per week over 4, 6 or 8 weeks. Players can choose from four seasonal programs: Winter (Nov- Dec & Jan-Feb) Spring (April-June) and Autumn (Sept-Oct).
  • Spring and Summer Elite Camps are a unique camp experience designed for the high school/travel player from U10 through to U18.
  • Residential Programs are intensive 5-day training week programs designed for competitive travel soccer players aged 9-14.
  • Master Classes are a series of personalized skills sessions for competitive soccer players from U10 through to U18.
  • Player-Unit-Team (PUT) Game Analysis brings modern scientific game evaluation tools to youth soccer. Build upon the recording of the playing events of individual players, positional units (DEF, MID or ATT) or the whole team by RDS staff during games using notional analysis.
